What Happiness Sounds Like Lately

These are some sounds of happiness in my life in the last couple of weeks:

“Jesus, Lover of my soul, Jesus, I will never let you go…”  spilling from my daughter’s heart through her lips and her guitar strings.   Sweet music to my ears.

The sound of the footsteps coming up the stairs as the daughter-my-brother-gave-me returned home after her freshman year in the dorm.

Bagpipes playing to begin the graduation ceremony where I heard my son’s name announced as he received his law degree.  Three years of hard work completed with a ceremony held in a stunningly beautiful setting.

Laughter.  When I am with my son there is always laughter.  Graduation weekend was no exception.

A prayer lifted for our combined families from the lips of my son’s father-in-law.  What a blessing that my boy married into a family that loves him and embraces him as their own.

My parents’ voices recounting the fun times we shared on our trip.  Good times we will remember again and again.

Hearing my son say goodbye, but knowing that this time he and his wife will be back home for the summer in just a few days.  It is a much easier “goodbye” to hear than the “goodbye” that means “See you in a few months.”

The pilot on our last flight home finally announcing, “We have been cleared for takeoff.”  After a four hour delay, at least three of those house spent waiting on the tarmac, those were were some welcome words to my ears.

Sounds of happiness all around me.  What a blessing.  Hope you are hearing them too.

Nice post. I learn something new and challenging on websites I stumbleupon everyday.
It will always be interesting to read content from other writers and practice
    something from their websites.
