Vintage Valentines

Here are a few of my favorite Valentines just for you.

Vintage Valentines

I miss being at school today. Valentine’s Day is BIG in fifth grade.  My substitute  is probably enjoying chocolate and valentine cards from my students.  I’m certain those cards will be a bit different than these.  Some will be handmade, but if they are purchased in a store they are more likely to have Justin Bieber on them than cupids and roses. This one is for those of you who favor blue over red.Forget Me Not

The next one isn’t exactly a valentine, but a couple of sweethearts to inspire us.  Don’t they look happy?Sweethearts

After I photographed this snapshot with the fabric flowers from yesterday’s post I giggled.  This snapshot of my in-laws was made in the days when they would add color by hand after the picture was taken.  This one is black and white, but my mother-in-law has a larger print that has the color added.  In this shot my father-in-law is holding a grease rag in his hand, but when they colored the photo it looked like a rose. I laughed when I realized I’m not the first one in the family to make flowers out of old fabric scraps!

Photo and Flowers

My mother-in-law celebrated 69 Valentine’s Days together with her sweetheart.

This year she will remember.  I hope she finds some giggles today mixed in with the bittersweet memories..

Sending love to all of you.  Get out there and make some memories of your own!

What a gal you are! I just wish I could have realized that I could have gotten you an old grease rag for Valentine’s day:-)
